Working alongside Rochdale Creates, Perfect Circle supported the development of a new cultural identity shaped by young people across Rochdale.
Building on engagement activity and workshop outputs facilitated by Rochdale Creates, the project focused on translating ideas, themes and participant thinking into a visual identity that could evolve into a public-facing cultural brand.
Creative concepts explored themes of belonging, creativity, individuality and community, helping transform early sketches and participant feedback into refined identity directions that were presented back for review and further development.
The process remained collaborative throughout, allowing young people to respond to visual routes, refine creative thinking and contribute to the evolution of the final identity.
The resulting FAB brand, standing for Freedom, Amazement and Belonging, became the foundation for a wider youth arts festival celebrating creativity, participation and community ownership across Rochdale.
The early rationale centred around individuality, inclusion and shared identity, with varied typography and collage-style forms representing diversity and connection.
