The new Noah’s Ark Foundation website is live

After plenty of work behind the scenes, the new Noah’s Ark Foundation website is now live.

Perfect Circle has created a new digital home for the organisation and its plans for a different approach to wildlife conservation. It brings a lot of moving parts into one place, from the proposed Ark Parks and conservation work to science, education, tourism and partnerships.

Our challenge was to make sure all of that felt connected. Someone landing on the website should be able to quickly work out what Noah’s Ark Foundation is setting out to achieve, then decide where they want to go next.

Starting with the bigger picture

At the heart of Noah’s Ark Foundation is a proposed network of Noah’s Ark Conservation Parks, with the first planned for East Africa. The parks are intended to provide protected environments for endangered wildlife and help restore natural habitats.

There’s much more around that central concept. Science and technology, education, tourism, partnerships and new approaches to funding conservation all form part of the wider plans.

Trying to give every part equal billing would have made for a busy website. Instead, we looked at how the story could unfold naturally, giving visitors the bigger picture first and introducing more detail as they explore.

Making the site easy to navigate

Not everyone visiting noahsark.world will be looking for the same thing. Some people will already know the organisation, while others may have arrived through a shared link or social post and be completely new to it.

The new site gives both audiences somewhere to start. Visitors can:

• See what’s driving the project: Explore the pressures facing wildlife and habitats
• Discover the Ark Park concept: Find out more about the proposed approach to conservation
• Meet the people behind it: Learn about the leadership and partnerships involved
• Explore ways to participate: See where individuals and organisations could play a part

People who want the headline story can find it quickly, while those who want more detail have plenty to explore.

Thinking about what people do next

Behavioural change also shaped the way we approached the finished site. We weren’t only thinking about what information should sit on each page, but what might be going through someone’s mind as they move through it.

What question are they likely to ask next? What might make them carry on reading? When are they likely to want more detail? And when does it make sense to give them an opportunity to act?

Those questions helped shape how information is presented and connected throughout the website. Content and design work together to keep the experience moving without pushing visitors towards a particular route too quickly.

Ready for the next chapter

Launching the website is an important milestone, but Noah’s Ark Foundation is still at an early stage in what it hopes to achieve. Its digital presence therefore needed to work for today without boxing the organisation in tomorrow.

The site provides room for new developments, partnerships and stories as plans progress. It gives Noah’s Ark Foundation a central place to communicate what’s happening and introduce its work to people around the world.
