Morphy Richards Full Automatic Coffee Maker

Product Identity- Creating successful product names

With one of the most successful ranges of domestic coffee making appliances in the UK, Morphy Richards recognised an opportunity to extend its range and deliver its consumer with a new and unique offering through a fully automated bean to cup coffee maker. 

The market for full automatic coffee makers has become well established on the continent, though the growth of the ‘real’ coffee culture demonstrated the requirement for similar bean to cup coffee makers in the UK.

To demonstrate Morphy Richards alignment with ‘the art of coffee-making’ they developed the Momento full automatic coffee maker.  This product extended not only their coffee range but also their price offering, with the Momento full automatic coffee maker becoming their highest price point offering.

Morphy Richards began addressing the communication challenge of launching their new product and extending their price offering by briefing Perfect Circle to develop a name for their appliance and design a range of communication tools that would position their new product as a premium appliance within the UK coffee appliance market place.

Perfect Circle is the expert at developing identities for products, services and brands within the domestic appliance industry.  The name ‘Momento’ was developed to the brief provided by Morphy Richards, to create a product name that communicated immediacy and was aligned with consumers taking time to discover the art of coffee-making.
