Marketing Internship Week five activities

This week I’ve produced a project plan for the company’s Twitter activity to make more people aware of the work of Perfect Circle. It’s been great to have had the responsibility of managing the company’s social networking profiles and to have developed them as its it will hopefully help the company develop a greater online presence.

Week four of my Marketing Internship!

image
With social networking accounts set up by myself for Perfect Circle, I’ve managed to source some information and examples of past and recent campaigns to upload and showcase on their Facebook profile. I’ve also been working on mock ups of background designs for their Twitter page, to help give it more of a brand identity and raise brand awareness. Oliver has asked for me to help him produce some copy for a couple of tenders he’s hoping to secure in the near future, this is quite important work so the pressure’s on!

Things I have been doing this week on my placement

image
This week I’ve helped the new business manager to source potential new clients and I’ve produced a database for Jennie to work through and contact, with new opportunities, hopefully something will come of it! I have also updated the presentation I produced for one of our clients and I’ve been invited to go along to the pitch with Oliver, so I think this will be an interesting insight into how the company sells their ideas to clients. The social networking project is starting to take shape; it will be a fresh and exciting campaign if we can get the client on board, so fingers crossed!

My Internship blog week two

image
I’ve carried out a lot of research on social marketing and 3G apps to help the company with their e-mail marketing shots, which will hopefully drive new business and lead to more business opportunities for us. I’ve also been working on live briefs, which is great! I’ve been asked to *sensored word - inappropriate language* in the development of a clients new website, which we’re going to pitch to them and we’re also looking into helping another client gain a presence on Facebook and Twitter for an upcoming campaign.

App-watch: Spring into 3G

image

Spring has almost sprung and although we haven’t spotted any daffs yet, we’ve certainly discovered a crop of shiny new apps this month! With 4.5 billion apps estimated to be downloaded in 2010, apps are providing brands with opportunities to engage with their customers to provide new experiences.

This month we’re focusing on apps for retailers. Why not see if there any of these could apply to your business?

Next: shop on the move, including homeware as well as clothes, this app has had brilliant reviews and is so much lighter to carry than their Directory.

BA Flights: online check-in, arrivals and departure information…the only downside we can think of is that doesn’t come with a free flight!

Natwest: you’ve probably not used your phone to check your finances since the 90s (ah, remember the joy of those call centres), but this is fast and secure.

Tesco: no need for plastic cards anymore, this app turns your iPhone into your clubcard, you even get to scan it yourself…beep!

North Face: there was more snow in Scotland than at last month’s Winter Olympics, so use this app to check the snowfall in your ski resort with your own personal forecast.

We’d love to know which apps you rate and can’t live with out and so please let us know!
